Evans Vanodine Sapphire Concentrate is a concentrated teat disinfectant designed for use as part of a professional dairy milking hygiene programme. Its formulation combines chlorhexidine gluconate and lactic acid, providing dual-biocide action against a wide range of organisms.
Sapphire Concentrate can be used as a pre-milking foam or post-milking teat dip or spray, giving dairy farmers flexibility when incorporating the product into their existing milking routine. The formulation contains a specially selected mild surfactant to support effective cleaning and coverage.
The product also contains emollient glycerol, which helps smooth and soften teat skin and reduce cracks and crevices where bacteria can multiply. Its dark blue colour provides a visible indication of coverage, helping operators identify which cows have been effectively treated.
Sapphire Concentrate is hard-water tolerant and remains effective in different water conditions. It passes EN 1656 against bacteria and EN 1657, providing tested antimicrobial performance. The formulation is designed to remain stable after dilution and offers an economical solution through its concentrated format.
The product is diluted at 1 part Sapphire Concentrate to 7 parts clean water before use. Supplied in 25ltr containers.
Prepare a solution in a clean container by adding one part product to four parts clean water and mix well. Solution must be used within seven days.
Prepare a fresh solution daily if the water is known to contain sulphates above 250ppm.
To be used prior to milking.
Fill a foaming teat dip cup about two thirds full with prepared solution and squeeze cup to generate the foam. Dip teats into the foam and wipe clean using individual cloths or disposable paper towels.
Fill the teat dip cup about two thirds full with prepared solution. Dip teats of every cow immediately after each has been milked, making sure that the full length of the teat is immersed.
Top up with fresh solution as required. Empty and wash out cups after milking.
Immediately after milking, spray the entire surface of each teat of every cow with prepared solution.
