Evans Sapphire Concentrate Teat Disinfectant 25L
Evans Vanodine Sapphire Concentrate is a chlorhexidine gluconate and lactic acid teat disinfectant for preparation before use. The formulation supports pre-milking foam application and post-milking dipping or spraying, with glycerol included to help maintain soft, supple teat skin.
The current product information specifies one part concentrate to seven parts clean water for general preparation. For Candida efficacy, it specifies one part concentrate to four parts water. Accurate measurement matters: choose the dilution from the current label and product information, and mix thoroughly in a clean container.
Sapphire is formulated to resist chlorhexidine instability after dilution and is suitable for different water conditions, including hard water. Prepared solution must be used within seven days, with fresh daily preparation where water sulphates exceed 250ppm. Its dark blue colour helps make teat coverage visible during application.
This listing supplies the 25-litre R103-KEV variant. Compare application methods in our teat care range and plan equipment cleaning separately with our dairy hygiene products. Read the linked safety sheet and product information before handling the concentrate or preparing the solution.

Directions for Use
Handle and dilute the concentrate
Read the current label and safety data sheet. The concentrate causes severe skin burns and eye damage: wear the specified protective gloves, eye/face protection and clothing that prevents skin contact. In a clean container, mix one part product with seven parts clean water. For Candida efficacy, the product information specifies one part product with four parts clean water. Mix well.
Apply as a pre-milking foam
Fill a foaming teat dip cup about two thirds full with the prepared solution and squeeze the cup to generate foam. Dip the teats into the foam, then wipe clean using individual cloths or disposable paper towels. Follow the current label for the complete preparation procedure before milking.
Dip or spray after milking
For dipping, fill the cup about two thirds full with prepared solution and immerse the full length of each teat immediately after milking. Top up as required. For spraying, apply the prepared solution immediately after milking and cover the entire surface of every teat.
Manage prepared solution and clean equipment
Use the prepared solution within seven days, or prepare it fresh daily if the water contains sulphates above 250ppm. Empty and wash out cups after milking. Store the concentrate in its original container, tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place, away from oxidising materials such as bleach and from alkalis. Follow the safety sheet for environmental precautions and disposal.

FAQs
Is Sapphire Concentrate ready to use?
No. It must be diluted before application. Use a suitable clean container, measure the product and water accurately and mix well. Handle the concentrate with the protective equipment specified in its safety data sheet.
Should I use a 1:7 or 1:4 dilution?
The current product information gives one part product to seven parts clean water for general preparation. For Candida efficacy, it specifies one part product to four parts clean water. Follow the current container label and product information when choosing and preparing the required solution.
How long can prepared solution be kept?
The manufacturer says to use prepared solution within seven days. If the water is known to contain sulphates above 250ppm, prepare fresh solution daily. Use clean preparation and application equipment and follow the product's storage and handling instructions.
Can Sapphire be used in hard water?
Yes. The formulation is described as hard-water tolerant and designed to avoid chlorhexidine instability after dilution. This does not remove the separate sulphate instruction: water containing more than 250ppm sulphates requires fresh daily preparation.
Which application methods are specified?
The product information specifies pre-milking foam dipping followed by wiping clean, and post-milking dipping or spraying. Use prepared solution for each method. After milking, immerse the full teat length when dipping or cover the entire teat surface when spraying.
Where are the test evidence and handling details?
The Related Documents section contains the current manufacturer safety sheet, product information and microbiological profile. The profile uses specified laboratory dilutions and conditions, which should not replace the practical preparation instructions. The concentrate requires protection against skin and eye contact and is harmful to aquatic life with long-lasting effects.
