Evans Masocare Extra Teat Disinfectant
Evans Masocare Extra is a ready-to-use iodophor teat dip and spray for post-milking dairy hygiene. This listing offers a 25 litre container of the 0.535% w/v formulation. Apply the product without dilution for its specified teat-dipping and spraying uses, making it convenient where measuring and mixing a concentrate would interrupt the milking routine.
The formulation combines iodine-based disinfection with a high level of skin-conditioning emollients. The manufacturer specifies 11.32% w/v glycerol and 0.68% w/v sorbitol, a combined 12%, to help keep teat skin soft and supple throughout the year. After dipping or spraying, an antiseptic iodine film remains on the treated teat to support the farm's hygiene programme.
Masocare Extra is applied immediately after milking with complete coverage of each teat. Keep its post-milking role distinct from preparation before cluster attachment. Farms reviewing that earlier stage can compare Evans Pre-Dip, following its own dilution, contact and drying instructions.
Teat care forms one part of a wider dairy cleaning programme. Premises and equipment may require separate products, such as FAM 30 for its labelled farm-surface applications. Select each product for its intended task, and keep the current container label and related manufacturer documents available to the people using it.

Directions for Use
Apply the post-milking teat dip
Use undiluted. Fill the teat cup about two-thirds full and dip each cow's teats immediately after milking. Immerse the full teat length and top up with fresh product as required. Empty and wash the cups after the milking session, and follow the current label for the complete application procedure.
Apply by spraying
Immediately after milking, spray the entire surface of each teat with the undiluted product. Use suitable, clean equipment and ensure coverage is complete. Keep the product-specific application instructions separate from laboratory test times; the microbiological profile does not replace the container label's directions.
Prepare the udder wash or cluster-dip solution
For these separate uses, the manufacturer specifies one part product to 80 parts clean water, equivalent to 125 ml per 10 litres of water. Use individual cloths or disposable paper towels to help prevent cross-infection, and dry teats before milking. Immerse clusters and agitate for at least 30 seconds, then rinse in clean water before use.
Handle, store and dispose of the product
Read the label and safety data sheet before use. Follow their handling precautions and keep the product out of children's reach. Store it in its original, tightly closed container in a cool, ventilated place, away from oxidising materials. Use the specified disposal route for unwanted product and packaging, and keep application equipment clean between sessions.

FAQs
Does Masocare Extra need mixing with water?
Not for the direct post-milking teat dip or spray: use it as supplied. The manufacturer gives a separate 1:80 dilution for udder washing and cluster dipping. Keep those tasks and their preparation instructions clearly distinguished.
What makes the formulation high in emollients?
The product sheet specifies 11.32% w/v glycerol and 0.68% w/v sorbitol. Together, these provide a 12% emollient content intended to support soft, supple teat skin alongside the product's iodine-based hygiene function.
Is the product applied before or after milking?
The manufacturer directs users to dip or spray teats immediately after milking. The profile also reports tests using pre-milking soiling conditions, but a laboratory test condition does not itself authorise a different practical application. Follow the current product label.
Does the 15-second test result apply to every organism?
No. The current profile records different contact times for different tests: some bacterial tests use 15 seconds, S. dysgalactiae uses 30 seconds under pre-milking soiling, and the listed post-milking bacterial and yeast tests use five minutes. Refer to the full profile for the conditions.
How should dipping cups be maintained?
Start with a cup filled about two-thirds full, immerse the whole teat length and add fresh product as necessary. Empty and wash the cups after milking. Clean application equipment helps keep the treatment routine consistent between cows and sessions.
Which container size is available here?
The selectable pack on this page is 25 litres. Other sizes shown in manufacturer literature are not additional options on this listing. Check the selected pack and displayed price, and retain the original container label for reference during use.
