Evans Multi-Acid™ 25L Dairy CIP Descaler
Evans Vanodine Multi-Acid™ combines nitric and phosphoric acids to remove milkstone and other persistent mineral deposits from dairy milking plant, pipelines and suitable utensils. The R076KEV container supplies 25 litres for controlled cleaning-in-place (CIP) programmes.
The non-foaming formulation is intended for conventional and robotic milking plant, single- or multi-stage CIP processes and acid boiling water (ABW) systems. Its acid blend provides effective scale removal, including a cold night-wash option within the specified alternating alkaline and acid routine.
Choose the programme for the equipment and cleaning task. Routine night washing, periodic descaling, two-stage dairy CIP and ABW each have different dosing requirements. Multi-Acid can also be used in suitable acidified-rinse CIP systems for raw milk silos and lines.
Keep the acid stage separate from alkaline cleaning, with the required intervening rinses. For equipment-cleaning choices, explore our dairy hygiene products and wider livestock hygiene range. Thoroughly rinse treated equipment with clean water before returning it to milk contact.

Directions for Use
Alternating alkaline and acid washing
After a hot alkaline morning wash, use Multi-Acid cold for the night wash at 0.25–1.0% v/v, equivalent to 0.25–1 litre per 100 litres of solution. Follow the plant programme and keep the chemicals in separate stages.
Scale removal and control
For milkstone and persistent scale, use 1–4% v/v (1–4 litres per 100 litres) at ambient temperature up to 60°C. Circulate for 5–10 minutes, discharge to waste, then rinse thoroughly. The manufacturer notes that higher temperatures within this range speed up descaling.
Two-stage dairy CIP
Following treatment with a suitable alkaline detergent and the required rinse, use Multi-Acid at 0.2–1.0% v/v (0.2–1 litre per 100 litres), at ambient temperature up to 60°C. Follow the equipment programme for circulation settings.
Acid boiling water systems
Use the equipment's ABW procedure and the manufacturer schedule below. The final column gives Multi-Acid required per litre of stock solution; it is not the dose per litre of circulating wash water. Confirm the milking-point count and circuit volume before dosing.

Rinsing, handling and storage
Rinse equipment thoroughly with clean water after treatment and before reuse. The concentrate causes severe skin burns and eye damage: avoid breathing mist and wear suitable gloves, protective clothing and eye/face protection. Store tightly closed in the original container in a cool, ventilated place, away from alkalis and oxidisers. Never mix with chlorine-releasing bleach, which can release toxic chlorine gas.

FAQs
Which acids are in Multi-Acid?
The formulation combines nitric and phosphoric acids for removal of milkstone and other scale deposits.
Can it be used in robotic milking plant?
Yes, where the equipment manufacturer specifies a compatible acid cleaning programme. Evans includes robotic and conventional milking plant among its applications.
Can Multi-Acid be used cold?
Yes. The prescribed alternating routine uses a cold night wash at 0.25–1.0% v/v after the hot alkaline morning wash. Periodic descaling and dairy CIP have their own instructions.
Is there one dilution for every task?
No. Select the instructions for the cleaning method. In particular, the ABW table describes stock-solution preparation and must not be treated as a general working dilution.
Can I mix it with alkaline cleaner or bleach?
No. Keep chemicals and wash stages separate. Strong alkalis are incompatible, and chlorine-releasing bleach can produce toxic chlorine gas when mixed with this acid cleaner.
Does equipment need rinsing before reuse?
Yes. Thoroughly rinse with clean water after treatment to remove chemical residues before equipment returns to use.
