Directions for Use

A competent person must establish a restraint arrangement that prevents the wearer reaching a fall hazard. Reassess the arrangement if the anchorage or work area changes; do not improvise alterations to the lanyard.
4. Maintain records and care for the equipment
Follow the manufacturer’s requirements for cleaning, drying, storage, periodic examination and retirement. Keep identification and records with the equipment. Quarantine the lanyard if its condition or history becomes uncertain, and have the appropriate competent person determine the next step.

Does the 2m length include the connectors?
Yes. Portwest specifies a 200cm overall length including connectors. When planning the restraint system, consider the complete connection arrangement and the wearer’s permitted reach, rather than the rope length in isolation.
How does FP22 differ from a fixed restraint lanyard?
FP22 has an adjustment mechanism so its working length can be set for the task. A fixed-length model has no equivalent adjustment. The appropriate choice depends on the assessed anchorage layout, working area and manufacturer’s instructions.
Can FP22 arrest a fall on its own?
