Evans Masofilm Barrier Teat Dip 25L
Make post-milking teat care a consistent part of your dairy routine with Evans Masofilm. This ready-to-use iodophor disinfectant combines a film-forming barrier with conditioning emollients, providing a dedicated dipping product for farms that want protection between milkings without measuring a concentrate.
Masofilm is designed for manual dipping immediately after milking. Its thickened formulation and added polymers help coat the teat, while 10% glycerine and sorbitol support skin condition. The 25-litre container provides a practical supply for an established routine using suitable teat-dipping equipment.
Documented performance supports product selection: Evans' microbiological profile records EN 1656 bactericidal and EN 1657 yeasticidal results under defined post-milking test conditions. Keep the product information, label and test profile with your dairy hygiene procedures so staff can follow the correct application method.
Choose each stage of the milking routine for its intended purpose. Masofilm is for post-milking dipping only; see Evans Pre-Dip for a separate pre-milking option, or compare Lact-8 barrier teat disinfectant using that product's own directions and suitability information.

Directions for Use
1. Prepare the teats and dipping equipment
Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use. Ensure the udder and teats are clean and dry. Use suitable clean application equipment; Evans recommends a dosing pump for filling it. Do not dilute Masofilm.
2. Dip immediately after milking
Fill the teat dip cup approximately two-thirds full. Immediately after each cow has been milked, immerse the full length of each teat. Top up the cup with fresh product as required. Do not apply through any type of sprayer.
3. Protect the contact period
Prevent the product being removed straight after application. Evans recommends keeping cows standing for at least five minutes to support sufficient contact time. Follow the container label and your farm's approved post-milking hygiene procedure.
4. Clean equipment and prepare for the next milking
Empty the dip cup and wash it with water after milking. Clean and prepare the teats before the next milking. Handle unused product and contaminated materials according to the label and safety data sheet, and keep the original container closed between uses.

FAQs
Does Masofilm need diluting?
No. It is supplied ready to use and should be applied undiluted. The 25-litre container supplies a manual dipping routine without requiring concentrate measurement or mixing with water.
Can Masofilm be sprayed?
No. Its film-forming and thickening properties make it a dipping-only product. Use a suitable teat dip cup and choose a separately specified product if your routine requires spray application.
Can it be used before milking?
No. Masofilm is intended for post-milking use. Clean and prepare teats before the next milking, and follow the instructions for a dedicated pre-milking product where that forms part of your hygiene programme.
Which disinfectant tests support its performance?
Evans records EN 1656 against bacteria and EN 1657 against yeast, both at five minutes and 30°C under post-milking conditions. The attached profile also records modified EN 16437 surface testing with Vitro skin carriers. These are specific laboratory conditions; follow the label for practical use.
What helps maintain teat condition between milkings?
The formulation combines added film-forming polymers with 10% glycerine and sorbitol emollients. These support its barrier and conditioning properties when applied correctly as part of a consistent post-milking routine.
