Omnicide FG Unfragranced Disinfectant 25L
Omnicide FG is an unfragranced disinfectant concentrate for professional food-production and preparation environments. Mirius identifies slaughterhouses and food-preparation areas among its applications, making it an option for premises that use a planned cleaning and disinfection programme with trained staff.
The formulation combines glutaraldehyde with quaternary ammonium compounds. Supplied in a 25 litre container, it is prepared at the working dilution required for the particular job. The unperfumed FG formulation provides a clear product choice where added fragrance is unwanted in the cleaning programme.
Cleaning before disinfection helps remove the soil that can interfere with treatment. Use a suitable detergent such as Omniclean foaming detergent for the cleaning stage, rinse as directed and then apply the disinfectant under the site's procedure. Follow the FG label for the intended surface, concentration, contact time and final rinse.
This is the FG variant, which the safety data sheet describes as an amber, unperfumed liquid. Omnicide FGII is the separate colourless and unfragranced option. Selecting the correct variant helps keep product identification, handling instructions and the site's chemical programme consistent.
Key Features & Benefits
- Unfragranced formulation: the FG option within the Omnicide range.
- Professional food-area applications: intended for appropriate food-production and preparation settings, including slaughterhouses.
- Concentrated liquid: prepared at the dilution specified for the intended task.
- Glutaraldehyde and QAC formulation: active substances identified in the FG safety data sheet.
- 25 litre container: suitable for sites managing measured chemical preparation and regular hygiene routines.

Directions for Use
Prepare the area and clean surfaces
Read the FG label, safety data sheet and site procedure before starting. Remove loose debris and clean suitable surfaces with the specified detergent. Complete the cleaning-stage rinse before disinfecting, and ensure food, equipment and the working area are managed according to the intended application.
Select the correct working dilution
For routine food-area use, follow the FG label for the application, concentration and contact time. Where a DEFRA-approved disinfectant is required for statutory animal-disease control, the current FG listing specifies one part disinfectant to 60 parts water for Foot and Mouth Disease Orders, 100 parts water for Swine Vesicular Disease Orders, 90 parts water for the poultry and avian-influenza orders, and 45 parts water for General Orders. It is not approved for Tuberculosis Orders. These are disease-order dilutions, not a universal food-contact procedure.
Apply with the required handling controls
Prepare and apply the solution only by the method specified for the task. The concentrate is toxic if inhaled and causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Avoid breathing vapour or spray, provide the required ventilation and wear the protective gloves, clothing, eye and face protection specified by the safety data sheet and workplace assessment.
Complete contact time, rinsing and storage
Maintain the label's required contact period and carry out the specified rinse before returning surfaces or equipment to use, especially where food contact is involved. Avoid release to the environment. Store the concentrate tightly closed in its original container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from food and drink.

FAQs
What is Omnicide FG intended for?
Mirius describes FG as an unfragranced disinfectant for food-production environments, including slaughterhouses and food-preparation areas. Use it within a suitable professional cleaning and disinfection programme and follow the product label for the surface and process involved.
How does FG differ from FGII?
FG is unfragranced, and its safety data sheet describes the liquid as amber. FGII is the separate colourless and unfragranced variant. Check the product name and its own safety data sheet when ordering or preparing a working solution.
Does unfragranced mean it has no handling hazards?
No. The concentrate has significant inhalation, skin and eye hazards, including sensitisation risks. The absence of added perfume does not remove the need for ventilation, protective equipment and the handling controls specified in the safety data sheet.
Is Omnicide FG DEFRA approved?
FG is listed for Foot and Mouth Disease, Swine Vesicular Disease, the poultry and avian-influenza orders, and General Orders at the specific dilutions shown above. It is not approved for Tuberculosis Orders. Use the applicable current listing when approval is required.
Can the disease-order dilution be used for every food-area job?
No. The DEFRA entries concern specified animal-disease-control uses. Routine food-production cleaning requires the FG label's application-specific dilution, contact time and rinsing procedure. Select the complete procedure for the task rather than relying on a single dilution figure.
Should surfaces be cleaned before disinfection?
Complete the appropriate detergent cleaning and rinsing stage before applying disinfectant under the site's programme. Follow the FG label through application, contact time and any final rinse, and only return equipment or surfaces to service once the required procedure is complete.
