Selgiene Extreme Virucidal & Bactericidal Cleaner
Selgiene Extreme combines BS EN 1276 bactericidal and EN 14476 enveloped-virus performance with cleaning for washable surfaces and floors.
Unperfumed cleaning across professional premises
Selgiene Extreme combines surfactant cleaning with quaternary ammonium disinfectants. The pink, unperfumed liquid suits work areas where a strong fragrance is undesirable, with manufacturer-listed applications across catering, education, healthcare and leisure facilities.
Prepared spray and concentrated formulations
T500 provides a ready-to-use treatment for individual surfaces, while C500 supports measured preparation for wider cleaning and disinfection routines. The C500 efficacy table below records the separate bacterial, yeast and enveloped-virus treatments. Selden also lists specialist EN 13704 and EN 14675 claims in its C500 information.
BS EN 1276 and related disinfection standards
Selden documents EN 1276 bacterial, EN 1650 yeast and EN 14476 enveloped-virus performance for Selgiene Extreme. Its C500 information also lists specialist EN 13704 and EN 14675 claims. The separate formulations and organism-specific conditions remain clearly distinguished in the technical information.

C500 specialist and wider organism information
Selden identifies bacterial efficacy including E. coli, Salmonella, MRSA and Listeria, and enveloped-virus examples including coronavirus, HIV, hepatitis C and influenza. Its earlier C500 information additionally lists Norovirus and Clostridium difficile. Select the exact labelled efficacy claim required: an enveloped-virus claim does not establish activity against a non-enveloped virus or bacterial spores, and a yeast result is not automatically a mould claim.
Ideal Applications
- Catering and hospitality surfaces.
- Healthcare and care-facility cleaning.
- Schools and shared workplace facilities.
- Leisure premises and washable floors.
Directions for Use
Choose the formulation and prepare the surface
Read the supplied label, safety data sheet and the efficacy instructions for the selected product. Check surface compatibility and remove visible soiling as required. Where two stages are needed, complete the cleaning stage before applying fresh product for disinfection.
Use T500 ready to use
Use the T500 trigger neat. Spray onto the suitable surface, allow the full contact time specified for the required efficacy claim, then wipe or rinse with a clean cloth as directed. Selden's general application guidance states a minimum of 30 seconds; this is not a universal contact time for every organism. Do not dilute T500 or transfer C500 concentrate timings to it.
Prepare C500 for the required efficacy
Measure C500 using the supplied label and dosing equipment. The following C500 results are from Selden's efficacy report, revision 5, issued 23 November 2020. All rows were tested at 20°C under dirty conditions. Keep the surface wet for the full relevant contact time and follow the current label for the formulation supplied.

Apply, allow contact and finish
Spray or mop the correctly prepared product onto the surface. Allow the full contact period before wiping or rinsing with a clean cloth or mop. Follow the product label and your catering hygiene procedure for food-contact surfaces. Clean, dry and store application equipment after use.
Check specialist organism requirements
The C500 manufacturer information includes Norovirus, Clostridium difficile and H1N1 claims alongside EN 13704 and EN 14675. These are separate from the enveloped-virus results above. Use only the matching formulation's specific organism instructions; the table does not establish a Norovirus or spore contact time. Confirm the relevant efficacy report and label before selecting a specialist process.
Handle the concentrate safely
Follow the current safety data sheet and workplace assessment. Wear the protective gloves and eye protection specified for handling C500, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and keep chemicals in correctly labelled containers. Keep out of reach of children and follow disposal instructions.
C500 concentrate causes skin irritation and serious eye damage and is very toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects.
FAQs
How do T500 and C500 differ?
T500 is ready to use. C500 is a concentrate with task-specific working dilutions. Their preparation instructions are listed separately.
Is Selgiene Extreme perfumed?
No. Selden describes the formulation as unperfumed.
Which C500 bacterial treatments are documented?
The cited EN 1276 report records 1:25 for thirty seconds or 1:50 for five minutes at 20°C under dirty conditions.
What does the C500 enveloped-virus test cover?
Its EN 14476 Vaccinia result supports activity against enveloped viruses. The report records 1:25 for one minute or 1:40 for five minutes under the stated dirty conditions at 20°C.
Are specialist spore and virus claims documented separately?
Yes. Selden lists EN 13704 and EN 14675 in its C500 information. Norovirus and spore applications require their own organism-specific treatment, separate from the enveloped-virus table.
Can it be used for two-stage cleaning?
Yes. Selden permits use for the cleaning stage followed by fresh application for disinfection, with the appropriate formulation and treatment period.
