Oxy Powder Stain Remover | Fast-Acting Multi-Surface Oxygen Cleaner
Evans Oxy Powder is a measured-dose stain remover for laundry and other compatible cleaning tasks. Supplied in a 1kg tub with a scoop, it tackles difficult stains including tea, coffee and fruit juice. The white, unperfumed granules contain sodium percarbonate and sodium carbonate, providing an oxygen-based cleaning approach.
Use it alongside detergent as a wash booster, dissolve it for pre-soaking, or prepare the separate solution specified for carpet and upholstery spots. Suitable white and coloured fabrics have different maximum soaking times. Check care labels and test colourfastness in an inconspicuous area; do not use on wool, wool blends, rugs, silk, leather or suede.
The manufacturer's applications also include staining on compatible worktops, chopping boards, floors, tiles, paving, grout, plastic garden furniture, rubbish bins and animal baskets or cages. Select a method suitable for the actual surface and follow the product label. Stain removal does not establish a disinfection claim or make the product suitable for every material.
Plan treatment alongside your usual laundry cleaning supplies, and ask Astral Hygiene if you need help matching the product to a task. Read the current label and safety data sheet before handling. Wear the specified protective equipment, avoid dust inhalation and carefully add powder to water when preparing solutions; never pour water directly onto the powder.

Directions for Use
1. Boost a suitable machine wash
Add one scoop, 25g, to the detergent in the washing machine drawer for the main wash cycle. Use two scoops, 50g, for very heavy soiling. Follow the machine instructions and fabric care labels, and use Oxy Powder alongside the detergent rather than replacing it.
2. Pre-soak whites or colours
Dissolve 25g in 5 litres of hot water; use 50g for stubborn stains. Add the powder carefully to the water. Soak suitable coloured items for no more than one hour, or suitable whites for up to six hours. Rinse with cold water afterwards or wash as normal. Respect the fabric's temperature and care limits.
3. Treat carpet and upholstery spots
Dissolve half a scoop, 12.5g, in 1 litre of hot water. After checking suitability and colourfastness, dab the stain from its outer edge towards the centre. Leave for 10 minutes, then wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use on wool, wool-blend carpets, rugs, silk, leather or suede.
4. Clean mop heads and store securely
Dissolve one or two scoops, 25–50g according to soiling, in 2 litres of hot water. Soak suitable mop heads for one hour or overnight as directed by Evans. Keep unused powder dry in its tightly closed original container, in a cool, ventilated place away from acids and out of children's reach.

FAQs
Can I use Oxy Powder on coloured fabrics?
Yes, on suitable coloured fabrics after checking the care label and colourfastness. For pre-soaking, use the stated dose and limit treatment to one hour. The longer, up-to-six-hour soak is for suitable whites; it should not be transferred to coloured items.
Which materials must I avoid?
Do not use it on wool, wool blends, rugs, silk, leather or suede. This includes wool-blend carpets. For other materials, check the care instructions and test an inconspicuous area before treating the visible stain.
Is the carpet dose the same as the soaking dose?
No. Carpet and upholstery spot treatment uses 12.5g in 1 litre of hot water, followed by a 10-minute treatment and a damp-cloth wipe. Laundry soaking uses 25g in 5 litres, or 50g for stubborn stains, with time limits based on fabric colour.
How many standard doses are in the tub?
A 1kg tub provides 40 measured 25g doses, calculated from its contents. At the 50g heavy-soil dose it provides 20 doses. Actual use depends on the selected method; these figures are dosing calculations rather than a promise of identical results for every load.
Can I use it beyond the laundry?
Evans lists several compatible hard-surface applications, including tiles, grout, plastic garden furniture and bins. Check the surface and label before treatment, and follow the site's cleaning and rinsing procedure. Do not treat its ability to remove a stain as evidence of disinfectant performance.
What precautions matter when mixing it?
Avoid breathing dust and wear the eye or face protection, gloves and protective clothing specified by the label and your workplace assessment. Add powder carefully to water, never water directly to powder. Keep it away from acids, store the tub closed and dry, and follow the safety sheet if exposure or a spill occurs.
