Portwest P100 is a non-valved, cup-shaped disposable respirator supplied in a box of 20. The moulded facepiece, padded nose area and adjustable nose bar help position the mask, while welded head straps hold it against the face. This format provides a straightforward option when the assessed task calls for FFP1 particle protection.
The classification is EN 149:2001 + A1:2009 FFP1 NR. Portwest identifies pollen, common household dust and other non-toxic particles among its intended uses. FFP1 has a UK assigned protection factor of 4 when correctly selected, fitted and used; it must not be assumed adequate for every material described as dust.

Directions for Use
1. Select and inspect
Confirm that FFP1 provides sufficient protection for the contaminant and concentration, and that the wearer has passed a fit test for this model. Check the packaging, expiry marking, straps and facepiece. Do not use a damaged respirator.
2. Fit the facepiece
Follow the supplied fitting sequence, position the mask over the nose and mouth, and place the straps as instructed. Shape the nose bar for a close fit. Keep hair and other PPE clear of the sealing edge.
3. Check the seal and work safely
Carry out the manufacturer's pre-use fit check every time. Readjust or select another suitable respirator if leakage persists. Do not enter the exposure area without a satisfactory seal. Leave the area if breathing becomes difficult, the mask is damaged or the seal is lost.
4. Remove and discard
Remove the mask in a safe area and dispose of it according to the contamination and workplace procedure. NR means use for one shift only; replace sooner if unserviceable. Do not wash for reuse. Store unused masks clean, dry and protected in their packaging.

FAQs
Does this P100 respirator have a valve?
No. Portwest P100 is the non-valved cup model shown in the product photographs. The pack contains 20 masks. Choose a different model if your assessment and working arrangements call for a valved design.
What does FFP1 NR mean?
FFP1 is the particle-filtering class under EN 149, and NR identifies a respirator that must not be reused beyond one shift. It may need replacing earlier because of damage, contamination, difficult breathing or loss of fit.
Is the P100 name a US P100 filter rating?
No. P100 here is Portwest's product code. The specified respirator classification is FFP1 NR under EN 149:2001 + A1:2009. Select it using that classification and the assessed protection requirement.
Do I need a face-fit test?
Yes, for workplace use of this tight-fitting respirator. A competent person should test the selected model on the wearer. The check performed whenever the mask is put on is also essential, but does not replace the fit test.
Can I wear it with a beard or stubble?
Hair crossing the sealing area can let contaminated air bypass the filter. The wearer needs a clean sealing area for this tight-fitting mask. Where that is not possible, select suitable respiratory protection that does not depend on a tight facial seal.
Will it protect against every dust, gas or vapour?
No. FFP1 must match the actual particle hazard and concentration. This mask is not a gas or vapour respirator and does not supply oxygen. Do not use it in oxygen-deficient atmospheres or as a substitute for a higher protection class required by the assessment.
